Privacy policy

Squidread is published by omrilotan. This policy covers the Squidread Android app, the Squidread web reader and this website.
Squidread collects no personal data. It has no accounts, ads, analytics, crash reporting or tracking of any kind.
Squidread for Android (com.omrilotan.squidread)
- No internet access. The app does not request Android's internet permission, so it cannot send anything anywhere.
- Your books stay on your device. Books you open or share with Squidread are copied into the app's private storage, together with their covers, your reading position in each book and your settings. Squidread never uploads anything, and it opts out of Android's cloud backup. If you move to a new device with Android's device-to-device transfer, your library comes along.
- Your fonts. If you choose a fonts folder, the app reads the font files in it to show your books in them. It does not read anything else on your device.
- Links in books. When you tap a web or email link inside a book, it opens in your browser or email app, which then follows its own privacy policy. Nothing else leaves the app.
- Removing your data. Deleting a book removes it and its data from the app. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage in Android's settings, removes everything.
The web reader
- Books you open in the web reader are read and stored in your browser only. They are never uploaded.
- The web reader loads its code libraries from public content delivery networks (jsDelivr and unpkg) and its fonts from Google Fonts. Like any website, those services receive your IP address and browser details when your browser downloads files from them.
This website
This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics. The servers that host it may keep standard access logs, such as IP addresses and the pages requested, to operate and protect the service.
Children
Squidread collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
